Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic, hard-working candidate with experience in a team-based manufacturing/production environment. The ideal candidate will have mechanical and electrical experience.

Hours:
1st Shift – Monday – Friday: 7:00am-3:30pm, alternating Saturdays
2nd Shift – Monday – Friday 3:00pm – 11:30pm, alternating Saturdays
3rd Shift – Monday – Friday 11:00pm – 7:30am – no Saturday work at this time.

DESCRIPTION:
Supports all production/facility equipment during normal operation, performs preventive maintenance on all equipment, and maintains machinery be performing in top operational condition.

PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS NOT A CARPENTRY/BUILDING MAINTENANCE POSITION.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Routinely inspects, repairs, modifies, and maintains the production and packaging machinery.
  • Creates and maintains up-to-date service logs /data files for equipment and machinery.
  • Communicates need for major repairs or additions to appropriate manager.
  • Maintains a clean, safe working environment.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have STRONG electrical skills pertaining to machinery and packaging equipment including PLC’s, controls, drives, motors, 3 phase 480 volt, sensors, photo eyes, limit switches, etc.
  • Must have STRONG mechanical skills pertaining to machinery and packaging equipment.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
  • Proficient in OSHA safety regulations.
  • Bilingual skills a plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Required to stand and walk throughout the day.
  • Required to utilize hand and finger dexterity.
  • Required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl.
  • Communicate with fellow employees.
  • Continually utilize visual acuity to operate and repair equipment, read technical information, and /or use a keyboard.
  • Required to lift/push/carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Continually work near moving mechanical parts.

Machine Operator

Job Description:
This position requires the applicant to set-up and make all adjustments necessary to run a paper or non-woven converting machine as well as be responsible for the quality of the product produced.

1st Shift Monday-Thurs 7:00am-5:30PM
Friday/Saturday 7:00am-3:30PM *(overtime/as needed)
2nd Shift Monday-Thurs 5:30PM-4:00AM
Friday/Saturday 3:30PM-12:00AM *(overtime/as needed)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Hands-on operator
  • Assist other team members as needed on the line
  • Assist with equipment set up, changeovers, adjustment and operation
  • Test quality of products
  • Fully cross trained, and demonstrates proficiency on each asset
  • Perform routine maintenance on assets and/or assist Maintenance Technicians

Job Requirements:

  • MUST be able to read a ruler
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting/problem solving skills
  • Must be able to work effectively on a team

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalency preferred
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Prior experience working in printing, paper production or paper converting is preferred or at a
  • minimum in a manufacturing environment

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to constantly stand
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

Maintenance Supervisor

Job Description
We are seeking a professional, enthusiastic, hands-on candidate with proven leadership experience in a team-based manufacturing/production environment. The ideal candidate will have mechanical and electrical experience in the paper converting business or food/consumer packaged goods.

Hours:
This is primarily a first shift position Monday – Friday 7am to 3:30pm but will require supporting the off shifts and Saturdays as business requires.

DESCRIPTION:
Leads the department mechanics in the maintenance and repair as well as preventive maintenance of production equipment. Provides directions to the building and grounds mechanic. This leadership includes developing the skills and abilities of mechanics as well as developing troubleshooting skills to get at root causes. Will create a professional culture of attention to detail.

  • Create a professional culture of customer service.
  • Reduce plant unscheduled downtime through the management of a robust preventive maintenance program.

  • Routinely inspects the work of mechanics for thoroughness and attention to detail.
  • Follows existing department programs and creates and maintains current service logs/data files for equipment and machinery.
  • Works closely with the maintenance manager to ensure business objectives are being met.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, and organized working environment.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
